Hello my name is Jarrod Seth and I am probably distantly related to one of you. My gg grandfather was George W. Seth the younger brother of Julia Seth Parker. You are right their parents were George W. Seth Sr. and Mahala Seth (maiden name unknown) of Arkansas. The children you have listed are correct. This was a tragic story. George W. Seth Sr., died in 1849 leaving Mahala with ten children. Mahala died in 1853 leaving most of her children under the age of 18. Most were given to neighbors and the female children that were old enough were all married out within five years of her death to include Julia Seth Parker who is listed as marrying Lewis Parker a widower with children. Sara Seth her sister also married an older man that was a widow as well. A John White. Mary Seth married Samuel Honeymoon. My gg grandfather George W. Seth ended up in Texas, but knew little about his family due to his young age when both of his parents died. I have attempted to locate any info on any of George W. Seth Jr's siblings.

The search has revealed Erastus Seth died between 1850 and 1853 leaving no decedents. Jasper Seth and his wife died in the mid 1860's orphaning their two children. Mary Seth died in childbirth with her first child in 1860. Stephen Seth and Jacob Seth were both killed in the Civil War they both were confederates and left no decedents. I did locate Sara Seth White in the 1880 census of Texas, which I was able to obtain some information from. As you can see I have ran into a lot of dead ends. I am looking for any info you might have on Julia Seth Parker. When she died? Where she died? where she lived if she was in the 1880 census and so forth. Julia was old enough to know a great deal about her parents and might have passed on info to children or there might have been an obituary or death certificate for her and important information in the 1880 census that I can confirm and compare to Sara Seth White's census record. Other info from Jarrod Seth: Sarah lists her mother as being born in Missouri and her father as being born in Maryland. The Seth family is well documented in Maryland and all decent from Jacobus Seth who immigrated into Maryland in 1673. The Seth's in Maryland are well documented until about 1800 when the fourth generation began to spread out to Pennsylvania, Ohio, GA, Indiana, and so fourth. Our George W. Seth Sr who is listed in Arkansas as early as 1828 was born in Maryland between 1800 and 1810 according to the 1830 and 1840 census. His daughter Sarah Seth White gives us the place of his birth from her 1880 census.
