Going to the car show in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho (called the Car D Lane) is a fun event to be in. There are lots and lots of cars and people there. Sherman Avenue is the main drag in town and Lakeside is the next street over. In this year's show the cars were lined up on both sides of the street on Lakeside from 2nd Ave to 7th Ave AND on Sherman from 2nd Ave to 8th Ave. That is a ton of cars! Bob usually goes really early in the morning to get a good place. Today he got up at 5:30 AM. The show officially starts at 8:00 AM but if you aren't there you part way far down the line. One year we parked near 8th, the next time near 4th. This year he was parked between 2nd and 3rd ... a PRIME spot!

After you get your car parked, set up the display, and purchase your mocha, it's time for the show to begin.
It's time to visit with whomever stops to chat ... this guy is a local
guy and remembered this downtown strip and the stores that were there
way back when Bob was 9 or 10.

or you can just sit and relax and watch the other people look at your car
You can see the other cars from the sidewalk
or really get the feel of the crowd from the center of the road

Josephine was sporting a few new things this year ... a specialty Idaho license plate on the front that says "1955"
a new sign explaining all her original features ...
and a new Do Not Touch sign on the hamburger tray ... which didn't work ... people still like to touch and see if that hamburger is real or not!
It was a nice cloudy, rainy, sunny day. You know the kind, when you take your sweater or coat off, put it on, take it off, etc. but it was fun. The real hamburger we had for lunch/dinner was really good.
