Project Linus Caring Hearts Other blankets

Before Bob and I retired, we made up a list of "what retirement means to us".  One of my items was to crochet afghans and give them to people who might need them.  I had no idea for whom or how I was going to do this.  I loved learning about Project Linus because their organization fit into my goals.  I was surely led to this organization. That was in October 1999.

So .... I have been making blankets ever since and enjoying every minute.  I make full sized blankets (45 x 60) so I can give the kids hope of getting well and living a long life. My mom and a couple friends send yarn periodically so we can all participate in this adventure together.

I have a website for our chapter of Project Linus for people to check out the Northern Idaho / Spokane Washington area. http://projectlinusid.tripod.com

Starting in 2006, I added sewing quilts (40 x 45) which has given me something new to learn and another way to be creative.

At the end of July 2006, I had donated 298 blankets to Project Linus.

From August 2006 through November 2006, I made 24 blankets that I gave to Bunch of Caring Hearts based in Post Falls, Idaho.  They give the blankets to the homeless in our specific area of Idaho to help keep them warm.
