July 23, 2008 8:47 PM  N-22 Display Board
We have a display board for Josephine and one similar is required when the boat is on display at the races. Here is the draft of N-22 display board. We only made a couple changes to this draft.

The enclosed picture is Josephine's display board.

The light brown boarder is similar to the natural deck color. She does great work.

July 20, 2008 8:02 PM  Look Who Got a Trophy
Today we went to the Hayden Eagles car show with Josephine (our '55 Chevy) and the hydroplane. We made it look like Josephine towed the boat, but actually the Rodeo did... LOL

We had lots of people look at the both and ask lots of questions and state over and over again how they wished the hydro's would come back to Coeur d' Alene.

After baking in the 90+ degree weather, Josephine as usual didn't win anything against the newly restored cars, but our boat received third place in her category. Not bad for a 75% finished boat... LOL

(Later we found out that the boat won 1st place in the "Off Road" category so two trophies at the car show for the Bolam's Express.  Kath)

Kathy, Mokie and I had a good time talking to all the people and some of our friends (BUT NOT AS MANY AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED VENTURED OUT OF THEIR HOUSES ON A HOT SUMMER DAY) came by to say hi and see the hydro in it's first public showing since 1989.........

A very exciting thing happened today. I have been looking for someone who knows Holley carburetors and most of them are elsewhere. We found someone who knows Holley Carbs inside and out (he used to race professionally at tractor pulls). Turns out we knew him all the time, he has been working on our MH, Honda and Rodeo since we moved here and his Mom goes to our church. Small world - this takes a HUGE load off my shoulders and it was the one missing link to complete the motor setup.

July 17, 2008 4:37 PM  Old and New Trailers
The first picture is of Kath and her Grandmother with our N-22 boat and our original trailer. The next picture is of our new trailer with Kathy. The new trailer tilts the opposite direction and is Very tall compared to our original trailer.

The new trailer is more like our first N-620 hydroplane trailer (last picture). The good news about the first hydroplane trailer and the new trailer, the boat is higher off the highway to HELP avoid flying rocks and other road debris. The good news about our Corky Peterson second boat trailer, it was closer to the ground to allow working on the boat without feeling like you were standing on a cliff and feeling like your going to fall off a building... LOL Being so high it can act like a sail when the wind hits you sideways (and semi's).
